Mil-LINK

Mil-LINK is a system, which enables IP Based communication and information sharing amongst land/naval/air platforms, by utilizing existing or new HF and V/UHF radios, based on STANAG 4691. It is a member of family of networks called Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANET)s.

BENEFITS

• Mil-LINK does not depend upon underlying radio technology, therefore it can work with existing HF and UHF radios, as well as future wideband radios.
• It can also uses synchronous serial crypto devices, so that it can work with most National Crypto devices, with synchronous serial interface capabilities.
• Mil-LINK’s Ad-Hoc nature enables maintenance free establishment and management of networks. Automatic network establisment, merge/split and late network entry is possible.
• Mil-LINK as a result of fully distributed nature, does not need a Control Station. The communication continues in spite of any platform leaving the network for whatever reason as long as the connectivity is provided.
• Each platform in Mil-LINK network has at least one time slot, but demand based dynamic TDMA structure allows to have more time slots when more data to transfer exists. Also platforms release time slots when required data amount decreases.
• Mil-LINK has an automatic relay selection feature. With this feature especially in UHF frequencies it allows various topologies and provides data transfer for more than 100 NM distance separation between ships. The relay platforms are selected using optimal selection algorithms for best communication qualities.

Intelligence officers can search through every bit of data at high speed, extract significant intelligence, perform multi-dimensional analysis using different customized views and share it with other officers when necessary.
